Hey CYY Freaks! It's almost June already - can you believe it? I'm struggling to - it feels like maybe a week ago when you couldn't go outside without having your hair chip off in the cold. Let's enjoy our short summer by getting out and seeing some music, shall we? Here are this week's suggestions:

FRIDAY 6/1

Acadia CD Release Party w/ Savor and The American Classic
Portland House of Music (Portland
8:00pm Doors / 9:00pm Music
$10 Advance / $12 Day of Show
21+
- Who ever said local pop-punk was dead? Far from it, in fact - and these three bands are out to prove it. Acadia is celebrating the release of their latest EP "All Heart," so expect to hear some brand new music!

Acoustic Night @ 212
Live at 212 (Westbrook)
8:00pm Music
$5 Cover
21+
- It's nice when local rock acts break out the acoustics on occasion - it showcases their softer side, and is a great test as to whether their songs hold up in a different style. No worries about trial and error here, though. Featuring performances from Joe Benenati, "Papa" Tim Goad and more, this is one solid bill.

Lonely Heartstring Band
Stone Mountain Arts Center (Brownfield)
5:00pm Doors / 8:00pm Music
$20 Tickets
All Ages
- Summer is the season for bluegrass! Well, if you don't listen to it all the time that is. Lonely Heartstring Band is up from Boston to give us a taste of some city grass - don't miss it!

The Mallett Brothers Band w/ Joel Thetford
Bangor Arts Exchange Ballroom (Bangor)
8:30pm Doors / 9:00pm Music
$15 Advance / $20 Day of Show
All Ages
- I'd venture a guess and say that The Mallett Brothers Band are one of the most fun local acts to see live, if not THE most fun. They've got equal parts country twang and rock swagger, and aren't afraid to show off both. They'll be joined by the awesome Joel Thetford, who just dropped a great new record, as well!

Well, there's this week's lineup. As always, if you're looking to bring people out to a show of your own, or just want to promote something you think is cool, drop a link in the comments below!
