Hey CYY Freaks! Another weekend is upon us - and as per usual, that comes with a whole bunch of cool shows. From former child stars to big rock bands, we've got a little of everything this time around:

FRIDAY 9/14

Dawes
State Theatre (Portland)
7:00pm Doors / 8:00pm Show
$28.50 Advance / $30 Day of Show
All Ages
- Last time I saw Dawes, they put on one hell of an opening set for Mumford and Sons on the Eastern Prom a few years back. Now touring behind a new record (mastered here in Maine), they're bringing their laid-back SoCal rock sound to the State Theatre. Should be fun!

Suitcase Junket
Stone Mountain Arts Center (Brownfield)
5:00pm Doors / 8:00pm Show
$20 Tickets
All Ages
- Dirty blues never sounded so good. I first caught on to this guy a while ago, and he's only gotten better in that time. Music like this proves there are still new things to say with one of the oldest sounds in the history of recorded music. Awesome.

SATURDAY 9/15

Phantom Vanity w/ JanaeSound
Bayside Bowl (Portland)
8:00pm Show
Free
All Ages
- Making their way up from NYC, Phantom Vanity has a great Neo-RnB sound, and the chops to deliver it every time. They'll be joined by local favorite JanaeSound, who's a force to be reckoned with, herself. Hop to it!

Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats w/ Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds
Thompson’s Point (Portland)
6:00pm Doors / 7:00pm Show
$39.50 Advance / $45 Day of Show
All Ages
- We've been bumping Nathaniel Rateliff on CYY for a while now, because we think he's one of the coolest new artists around. Simultaneously sounding like it's brand new and 60 years old, his music is bridging the gap between rock's old-school heyday and the beard-clad folk jammers of the now.

TUESDAY 9/18

Drake Bell
Portland House of Music (Portland)
7:00pm Doors / 8:00pm Show
$21 Advance / $25 Day of Show
All Ages
- For anyone that grew up watching Drake and Josh, this show is a must-see. Drake's music has changed quite a bit since we saw him on TV way back in the day, but getting to see him up close and personal, in one of Portland's best venues is just too cool to pass up.

That's all for now! Check back next week for more Rave 'N' Rage listings. As always, if you have a show you'd like to promote, feel free to drop a link in the comments!
