Halloween is right around the corner and I'm sure there are plenty of people gearing up by watching classic slasher flicks. Well here are some famous scenes in movies that don't really scream Halloween but made us scream as kids.

Here's the clip with Large Marge and Pee Wee together in the 18 wheeler in Pee Wee's Big Adventure. It used to freak my younger sister and I the hell out! When she got scared, she would do this arm flapping thing, as if she was trying to fly. That was entertaining in itself...I still tease her about to this day.

The boat ride in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. What did we love about this movie? Well for me, it's supposed to be a fun, adventurous place with lots of crazy characters and a ton of candy but somehow parts of the chocolate factory are scary as hell....well, when you're a kid anyway.

Still weird to me that this was an acceptable movie for an eight year old to watch. Or was it not but my parents allowed it? I've always enjoyed this movie. Here's the kitchen scene where the mom discovers the batch of bad gremlins. I used to love the blender scene...so gross but so awesome. Hey, did you can see Gremlins as part of the Cult Classics series at Westbrook Cinemagic on 12/10? Yup, the original Gremlins in theater, like it's 1984 all over again. Just in time for Christmas too...seeing that this is technically a Christmas movie.

The flying monkeys in Wizard Of Oz. Yeah, I didn't like them...they freaked me out. Luckily I've never encountered a real one.
