Highly touted first base prospect Sam Travis will begin the season at Hadlock Field with the Double-A Seadogs. If he plays like he did in spring training camp in Fort Myers, he won't be in Portland for long.

Travis hit .469 with 2 home runs and 13 RBI in his first big league camp. Scouts were raving about his game.

He's a second round draft in June of 2014 after playing college ball at Indiana.

After spending the first half of last season in High Class A Salem, Travis was promoted to the AA Sea Dogs and he hit .300 with 4 home runs and 38 RBI in 65 games.

The Seadogs start their season on Thursday. They play the first seven games on the road before the Hadlock Field opener April 14th.
