Born in Portland, ME, Rob grew up in North Conway, NH. He enjoys anything to do with music especially going to shows. Little shows, big shows, club shows. He loves his parent’s home cooking, cereal, all seafood, eating olives out of the jar and Miller Lite. He also likes jogging, hiking, skiing in the winter. Rob used to play sports, but after several freak accidents including a baseball between the eyes and a broken collarbone sustained while playing floor hockey, he’s steered his way into radio. Radio has been a passion since he was about 10 years old, when he used to record himself in his bedroom practicing to be a DJ. He’s been at CYY for 15 years now, and doing the afternoon show for most of that time. Rob is all over the place when it comes to music. Some of his favs include The Police, Pink Floyd, REM, The Beatles, Cheap Trick, Bruce Springsteen, Hall & Oates, The Clash, Cage The Elephant, Michael Jackson, Social Distortion, Rise Against, Pearl Jam, The Killers, The Ramones, Prince, Weezer, Talking Heads, The Cars and Billy Idol. He also may get caught crankin the ol’ the 80s (hair) metal… “I don’t really like the term hair metal because I think it dilutes a bands cred, ya they looked a little ridiculous but some of those songs are timeless. Plus who didn’t look a little ridiculous in the 80’s?” …Motley Crue, Cinderella, Def Leppard and Poison for example. Finally, anything Dave Grohl has been involved in. We don’t know why but he felt the need to mention “Saturday Night Fever is the best soundtrack ever and if it happens to come on at the right time, I just may show a random crowd of people my appreciation by busting out some really bad white boy moves.” Rob’s generally a happy dude but when the mood strikes, he may go on tangents about the world in general and other random things that may piss him off. Stuff like gas prices, Paris Hilton and long ass winters. Finally his cranky elderly neighbor, who in result, makes him cranky. His favorite part of the workday is Throwback Lunch weekday’s. He plays jams from back in the day from noon-1pm. The last hour of his broadcast day includes hosting the CYY Top 5 at 5 during the weekday cruise home.
