Unsurprisingly, Spose is making big noise with his latest record and the song you've been hearing on CYY. More world dominance from Wells Maine!

It's been a great start for Spose's latest record, his 10th release, Why Am I So Happy? With a Friday morning (midnight release on 7/10) the album started selling heavy, instantly. It hit as high as #9 on the iTunes rap charts out of the box. That's pretty damn impressive any way you look at it.

His first single off the new album is the highly requested, "Alternative Radio" you've been hearing on CYY. It features local rock friends like Kevin Kennie of Headstart and Walt Craven of 6Gig/Lost on Liftoff/Gouds Thumb/Sidecar Radio The songs caught some buzz outside the 207 already...

His album release show on Saturday at H.O.M.E (Portland House of Music & Events) was nothing short of a marathon. Clocking in at 2 hours and twenty minutes Spose dished it all out walking on stage in a snappy red suit jacket and bowtie. He looked like one of those smart ass jokesters that would have been kicked out of Bushwood Country Club in Caddyshack for drinking and partying and doing too much non-Bushwood appropriate stuff. Spose dished out not only the new tunes (that went over huge by the way with the crowd already knowing the words to most tunes), but Spose PDank classics as well.

Family members from his PDank label world stepped on stage all night like Cam Groves, Shane Reis, Essence and Ock Cousteau featuring Mike Be and Jay Caron, who DJ's for Spose. There was also a killer trio of local musicians backing Spose on his instrument friendly songs. With Sean Morin on keys and guitar (formerly of Cambiata now with Sara Halle Richardson), Derek Gierhan on drums (from Haru Bangs, Bully Mammoth & Lady Lamb), Kyle Gervais on bass (KGFreeze) and Kristina Kentigian on backing vocals, it was a local jamboree of awesomeness. The crowd was a mutt as well. Hip hop kids, indie kids, histpsters, rock dudes, alt country dudes, R&B folks; they all gathered for the King of Maine as he layed out his blueprints for another busy run in 2015.
