Between 1986 and 1997 there were 75 concerts at The Ballpark in OOB. Big names too! We've compiled a list of every show and hope it brings back good musical memories for you!
We heard amazing stories of people seeing bands like Aerosmith playing high school functions before they got famous. Or a woman who saw the Grateful Dead when she was 6 months old. So many great stories!
The Maine Savings Pavilion at Rock Row in Westbrook is unlikely to host any outdoor concerts this summer due to an ongoing noise dispute with neighbors
How long has it been for you without seeing live music? We know the answer; TOO LONG. Here's the perfect "First Show After The Pandemic" for you. June 2, 2021: Royal Hammer at Urban Farm Fermentory, Portland. Outside, safe, reggae, drinks, food, and best of all--for charity.
Summer is here and live music is FINALLY back in Maine! We get rolling again with a unique concert series starting up next week that features great local talent, fantastic venues, and a great community cause.
You might not think of the Portland Expo as one of Portland's best concert spots, so you may be a bit surprised when you see who's on this list of Expo concerts.
We had a bunch of concert announcements this week in New England. You remember concerts...when we all get together and go crazy with our favorite musicians? Making incredible memories with friends and sometimes, complete strangers! Rescheduled shows and some new shows have been announced at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom, The Bank of NH Pavilion in Gilford, Rock Row in Westbrook, and Darling's Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor. And today the Boston Red Sox announces their Summer Concert Series. All of these Fenway dates are make-up dates from 2020. I hope you held on to your tickets! All the shows are tentative based on how the pandemic goes. But the fact that we may actually see LIVE MUSIC this summer warms my heart.
Man, do we miss concerts here at CYY. It's where we are most alive and where we get to hang with YOU. One of our most favorite spots in town is AURA. And not just because it's 100 yards from the CYY studios so we can sneak away for a beer to the AURA sports grill in the middle of the day. Well, THAT plus all the historic CYY moments we have shared with Krista and her crew over the years. First at Asylum and for the past several years at one of the greatest live music venues in America with AURA. In lieu of any live music happening, we thought we would bring you back to some CYY shows from AURA.
I don't know about you but I am really missing concerts. The whole thing. Getting tickets for them. Looking forward to them. Discussing with friends what should and should not be on the setlist. The Pregame. The $8 beers. The time of my life! And this was going to be an epic summer. From Bangor to Boston. Now? Who knows. We are watching tons of virtual shows from Maine artists and they are awesome. But when do you think we will actually be inserting ourselves into the LEAST safe and sterile situation you can think of? And when we do, what will that be like?
The idea of "drive-in" concerts came alive this past weekend in Denmark. The country, not the Maine town. But what IF drive-in concerts were held in Maine. Would you go? Bands use a sound system as well as putting the audio feed on the FM dial so you can blast it in your vehicle.
