The coolest thing about Markathon is that we throw the usual CYY playlist out the window and let you program the radio station with your requests and donations. It really is the best week of radio in Portland every year! Every genre, every era, great songs and horribly great songs all make it on the air.

It was another amazing day on Markathon "Friends and Family" yesterday with us going over the $20,000 mark! Thanks for all your great requests. We've still got a day to go so if you have not made your request yet, well, now it's GO TIME...

This year is a bit different with our Markathon hero Mark Curdo out of action for health reasons. So we are relying on our Friends and Family to help us through. At CYY, our "family" includes fabulous DJ's from our sister stations who are taking a shift and helping out.

Day One of the Friends and Family Edition of Markathon and we are off and running. We will play ANYTHING for a donation to the Center for Grieving Children. Over the years we've raised over $250,000 for this amazing place.
