The Black Keys and J. Roddy Walston & the Business took the stage on last night’s episode of ‘Austin City Limits,’ for what might’ve been one of the most energetic shows we’ve seen this season. That makes sense since both bands are described by PBS as “contemporary rock’s best live bands” -- check out the full episode in the video above.

The Black Keys opened the night up with a flawless set that included ‘Your Touch,’ ‘Lonely Boy,’ ‘Weight of Love,’ ‘fever,’ ‘Gotta Get Away’ and ‘Little Black Submarine. This marked the Keys’ second appearance on ‘ACL,’ and even though we were there for the taping last year, we loved watching the performance on TV. ‘ACL’ always creates a powerful experience around their weekly performances, and they knocked it out of the park with the Keys.

J. Roddy Walston & the Business followed up with a five-song set that featured ‘Brave Man’s Death,’ ‘Heavy Bells,’ ‘Boys Can Never Tell,’ ‘Don’t Break the Needle’ and ‘Used to Did.’ Their brand of summer rock was the perfect sound for a chilly Saturday night. This was the band’s first ever gig on ‘ACL,’ but we’re guessing the producers will call them back very, very soon.

Walston hits the road for a handful of dates across the states, culminating in a huge appearance at this year’s Governors Ball in New York City. Check out his full itinerary here.

As for the Keys, with drummer Patrick Carney’s recent injury, they’re out for the count and canceled their European tour. They’re still set to headline Mountain Jam, though, and we can’t wait! Get your tickets for Mountain Jam here.
