After a weekend filled with national headlines over the latest controversy stemming from Maine's Governor, an anonymous graffiti artist surprised residents of Portland with a "Dump LePage" message under the Deering Avenue overpass.

According to WGME, the Maine Department of Transportation spotted the graffiti on Monday morning when performing work nearby. That department has stated that the message will be removed in the coming days and that it is being treated just like any other destruction of public property. Dan Lampariello of WGME shared some photos via Twitter.

The message comes after a high profile voicemail left by Governor LePage was made public on Friday. In that message, the Governor calls a representative from Westbrook a "son of a bitch" and a "c**ks*cker." Over the weekend, many critics and pundits called for Governor LePage to resign his post. Others suggest this is the final straw and that LePage must be impeached immediately.

For now, people will have to take satisfaction in small victories. Like terrific graffiti art sending a message all the way to Augusta.
