The First Hour of CYY Sounded Like This….21 Years Ago Today!

At 11:44am on 7/28/95, something that had never happened before was born in Portland, Maine. We launched into the infectious opening guitar riffs on Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit." The song is credited for starting a new revolution of music so we thought it would be fitting as we were starting a new revolution in radio, at least in the state of Maine. CYY was the first and to this day the only alternative rock station in the state. Here's to 21 more....now press play on these f***ers!!! Oh, and have some drinks with us cuz we can do that now.
