The Hold Steady!

Get tickets from me all this week to see The Hold Steady! One of the best rock bands in America is starting their tour here Friday at the Asylum to support the new album, Teeth Dreams. Don't miss it!  I found Tthe Hold Steady here at CYY in a mailing envelope from French Kiss Records back in 2006. I got their second record, Separation Sunday (prob still my favorite) and was into it after a first listen. I took it to the air on Spinout and never looked back.

I've been psyched to have supported The Hold Steady on every record since. I've singles, deep cuts, eps, solo stuff. I talked to Tad Kublar on air, who I think is one of the best guitarists going today. I'll be talking to him again this week as well as Craig. 

Vocalist Craig Finn I believe is one of the best lyricists in rock music and is a hoot to watch live. He's like Elvis Costello's younger brother who forgot to take his chill out meds. He sings in a snotty, punk style cause thats his main bag and what he grew up on. That makes this band really unique.

With a new record, Teeth Dreams, their 6th record just in stores this past week; The Hold Steady kick off the supporting tour, here in town, at the Asylum on Friday night. Click right here for tickets! They're selling fast.

They're the best bar band, sounding band in the world who are cooler than any bar band ever was. Real, raw, cookin and cool. Killer musicianship and songwriting. This is a special club show on Friday at the Asylum. Most other dates in the US they will be packing in theatres and decent mid seized venues. Treat yourself to this show. This isn't any b_ _ _ s _ _ _ band you'll forget about by the end of the Summer. This is a major part of what rock n roll needs right now. They've been doing it for 10 years now and finally getting their propers.
