There's a good change you've traveled over it numerous times but it's quite possible you'll never do it again. According to the Portland Press Herald, the infamous Sarah Mildred Long Bridge on the Maine/NH border that's been in operation for 76 years malfunctioned on Sunday morning. It became stuck in its "down" position, in result not allowing river traffic to pass through. NHDOT spokesman Bill Boyton said the malfunction happened due to a faulty wheel on the bridge’s southwest corner tower that carries cables for lifting the span.

With the new Sarah Long Bridge in the works, they're saying the old one may never repopen. The $172 million dollar bridge is slated to be up and running by September of next year.
