Although it's been two years since the Killers released a new album, there's reason for fans to look on the 'Mr. Brightside': frontman Brandon Flowers has announced he'll release a new solo record in 2015.

Flowers told NME he's collaborating on the  follow-up to 2010's 'Flamingo' with producer Ariel Rechtshaid (Vampire Weekend, Haim) and that the pair have had a tumultuous working relationship. "He's taking me out of my comfort zone," said Flowers. "Normally I make demos and they're pretty similar to how the song ends up. But he'll take a song and be like, 'I hear this'. It's incredible -- his palette and his range, what he's able to say. At first we were butting our heads together, but now we're hitting it off."

Flowers also said the upcoming effort won't be nearly as inspired by his hometown of Las Vegas as 'Flamingo' was. "People are going to interpret it how they will," he said. "But there's only a little bit of Vegas in there."

But fans don't need to worry about this being a sign that the Killers are on the rocks.

"I wanna keep being in [the Killers]," Flowers said. "I don't think we'll get too morbid about it, I think we wanna keep going."
