As Apple gets ready to introduce the new iPhone 6 today, I thought it would be fun to see where it all started. Back in June 2007 the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs introduced the world to the iPhone and changed the definition of the smartphone forever.

Apple had already changed the way we listen to music by introducing the iPod in 2001 and they were set to do it again by combining an iPod, a cell phone and the Internet all in one device.

The iPhone set the bar for smartphones and it's what everyone scrambled to emulate since its release.

Today Apple plans to announce the iPhone 6 and some sort of wearable device, possibly a watch. (Does anyone wear watches anymore?)

We'll have a complete summary of the new iPhone and any other Apple announcements later today.
