Ever been to Cliff Island? Cliff Island is the smallest year-round island in Casco Bay and is the last stop on Casco Bay Ferry Lines. The island didn't always wear the "Cliff" name tag. The former moniker inspired by the island's shape is enough to make anyone with a third-grade sense of humor giggle a little too much.

The H-shaped island and it's natural harbors were the reason behind it's former name. However, Maine already had a Crotch Island in Stonington, so this lead to some confusion. Can you imagine the conversations? "Which Crotch are we talking about?"
