Thrillest Has Revealed the Best Beer Bars State-By-State. Maine’s is Right Here in Portland

We have a lot of great beer bars in Maine but we can't argue with the #1 bar chosen by Thrillest. This spot off of Exchange may be hidden but it's quite popular. Their collection of 25 taps, two casks and over 300 bottles to choose from certainly helped them in their ranking.

Novare Res opened up back in 2007. I remember the first time I went there (after struggling to find it) I wondered to myself if it would last. The selection and atmosphere were great, it was the location. It's off the beaten path and you do kind of have to look for it. The sign on the sidewalk points you to the location which is set up behind some buildings on Exchange Street.
