Queens of the Stone Age have been diligently fighting to maintain guitar rock's coolness and relevance for nearly 20 years now. During their tenure as rock royalty, they've left some pretty great bits and pieces of music in their wake.

As evidence of this assertion, we present you with a video of the band performing their hit "Go With the Flow" from 2002's Songs for the Deaf on The Late Show With David Letterman. Not only do you get to hear the band play one of their most rocking tunes, you also get to watch frontman Josh Homme do his best Elvis-style hip swing while strumming the ol' six-string.

For those who don't know, QOTSA had already been around for some time, enjoying respectable underground success. But with Songs for the Deaf, QOTSA found themselves enjoying major radio airplay and wide mainstream exposure greater than they'd experienced before. It wasn't long before the album was certified gold.

Their latest album, 2013's ...Like Clockwork, was a bit of a rock-and-roll magnum opus, full of grand, ambitious songs that showcased the band's versatility and creativity. They recently announced they were taking a break, although they did say they'll be back in the studio soon to record their next album and guitarist Dean Fertita recently told Billboard that his other band – supergroup the Dead Weather – won't be touring in the near future because QOTSA are "starting up again." We'll wait with bated breath.
