It was a Saturday night to forget for the Bruins and Celtics as they both took blowout losses on the road to Columbus and Washington.The Bruins completely collapsed in the second period of their game allowing four goals to the Blue Jackets that turned a 1-1 game into a three goal lead after two periods before taking a 6-2 loss. Scott Hartnell led the Jackets with two goals while Kevin Connauton added a goal and two assists.

Tukka Rask was pulled from the game in the second period after giving up 3 goals on 15 shots. His replacement, Niklas Svedberg did not have any more success as he also allowed 3 goals on 15 shots.

Boston will return to the Garden Monday to play former UMaine Black Bears Jimmy Howard, Gustav Nyquist and the Detroit Red Wings.

On the basketball court it was a couple former Celtics that helped the Washington Wizards beat Boston 101-88. Kris Humphries led the Wiz with 18 points and 9 rebounds while Paul Pierce had 17 points. The Celtics who have lost four straight were led by Jeff Green's 23 points, and Kelly Olynyk's 15.
