According to the University of Southern Maine police department, the search is underway for the perpetrator of a serious offense on the school's Gorham campus.

USM Police sent out a campus safety alert saying that they're looking for someone who exposed himself to a student on Sunday.

In a message posted to the USM Campus Safety Alerts page and emailed to students, police say that...

"... at approximately 2:15pm, wherein a female student was walking in the G-19 parking lot of the Gorham campus and was approached by a black or dark colored full sized SUV (unknown make or model and no license plate available). The SUV was driven by a male described as mid 20’s and unshaven; he was alone in the vehicle. The male asked the student for directions to a soccer game, and said that he had a problem with his GPS system. He asked the student to look at his GPS; from outside the vehicle the student observed that the male’s genitalia were exposed and he was masturbating. The student left the area to find a friend, who escorted her to the USM Police office to make a report."

The suspect is described as male, in his mid-twenties, and reportedly spoke with a heavy accent.
