What a day and night at the Bank of NH Pavilion on Saturday night. Had a blast hangin' with Tyler and Josh from Twenty One Pilots before the show. It was Josh's birthday too! Some CYY listeners got to meet the guys then I went into their dressing room to hang for an interview.

We discussed...

  • Josh's "big transition" to age 28
  • The the quick rise to selling out large venues
  • The challenges of performing lengthy, non-stop, high energy shows as a two piece every night
  • Brand new song "Heathens" from Suicide Squad Soundtrack
  • Future plans

I heard that the live show was amazing but you never know how good something is until you experience it yourself. After some solid opening sets from Chef's Special and Mutemath, Twenty One Pilots were ready to hit the stage and blow minds. The set started around 8:50 with opening song and fan favorite "Heavydirtysoul". It was non-stop from there. They would disappear from the stage and pop up at unexpected spots throughout the venue, costume changes and the stage set was amazing. Lots of cool backdrops and lights.

About half way through the show, the opening bands came out to join for some unexpected cover songs. Spoiler alert, they are right here along with full setlist from the night. Yes, Twenty One Pilots and friends covered a portion of the Celine Dion song from Titanic, that happened, as well as a few others.

I would typically expect a band that has released just two albums on a major label to play for 80-90 minutes. They played for two hours, which is a generous set, especially for two guys. It went by quick. The fans loved it. If you dig their music or just love a good live show, go see this band!

This is a solid synopsis of the show. Video shot by fan Paul Noyes of Concord, NH. If you only have a few minutes, make sure you cue up to about 8 minutes in....wow!
