It was a three-day pursuit, but a bull from a suburban Boston farm who escaped was finally lassoed safely.

I have two videos here for you.  WMUR-TV New Hampshire played a huge role with video for the Pelham Police Department. The first one is when this bull was spotted in some woods in Pelham, and the second is when he stopping traffic, turning the little town into a scene out of a western.

Cowboys on horses with lassos chased him down, finally roping him and getting him safely into a vehicle and back to his home in Dracut according to the Pelham Police Department. Here's the first video.

Corporal Brian Kelly with Pelham Police Department was part of this adventure.

In my 15 years as a Pelham police officer, I’ve never seen anything like this.  It did feel like the wild west. This is not what you would expect to see in Pelham, New Hampshire, on a Wednesday night, or any night.

The Pelham PD brought in real cowboys and their herding dogs from New York state to capture the bull.

It's crazy to think that this bull left the Dracut area, crossed state lines into New Hampshire, and made it up to Pelham, New Hampshire, before being caught three days later.  I mean, I know it's only around 5-10 miles, but still. I truly hope he had a nice little romp; a sightseeing tour, if you will.

As one colleague said to me, "grab a red flag."

I know it's a bull, but I sure hope he wasn't scared.  Another colleague laughed at me and said "Jolana, it's a bull, he probably weighs anywhere from 1,000 to 2,000 pounds."  Fine, touché.

Anyway, here's that second video of three cowboys finally roping in the escaped bull.

The bull was unharmed, nobody got hurt, there were some tired horses, tired cowboys and tired dogs and tired cops.  But happy ending with the cowboys and their dogs back home in New York State and the bull back home on his Dracut farm.
