5 Things You Should Do That Are Way Better Than Black Friday Shopping in Maine
Maybe I sound like a "Grinch" but let's be real, with the chilling temps on the way, who wants to spend their day frozenly fighting over sales? Here are a few things that sound way better to me than a midnight shop crawl:
Shop online: Let's get the most obvious out of the way. Never leave your home, avoid the crowds at the Maine Mall, and have it all shipped to you. If you feel like procrastinating until Cyber Monday, you totally can!
Play with your leftovers: I'm talking food, guys. Instead of the typical leftover sandwiches, make some waffles- just use stuffing and an egg as your waffle base and add in whatever else you want from there! If that doesn't tickle your fancy, here are a bunch of other recipes to try! What goes well with cooking? Music and booze, amiright? We've got your music covered so let's talk booze. After you've spent your morning sleeping-in, grab some coffee and start the crockpot with something to keep you warm, maybe cider and rum, red wine hot cocoa, or for you sick people out there, classic eggnog...
Get fresh: Black Friday is one of the best days to get a haircut or if you're more in the mood to relax, get your toes done. Insider info- if you're barber or stylist is working, this is the best day to get a last minute appt. Pre-Thanksgiving traffic has already been through and chances are, you'll be s.o.l. if you try to book for December.
Netflix: Go ahead, chill out for the day, you deserve it. Or bare the weather to go out for a movie. On the flipside, cozy-up with some reading material!
Get a workout in: what better way to stay warm than getting a good sweat-sesh in. And what better way to justify that leftover half of a pie calling your name...hmm..?
The great exception is that Black Friday is also Record Store Day but we won't relate those two... So grab your friends (and/or family if you're not already needing a breather from Thanksgiving) and self-care the day away!
