Bust out your cell phones and text everyone you know. Or better yet, spatter the information all over social media. South Portland may be the first city in Maine to get a new chain of hipster/millennial themed hotels under the Hilton umbrella called Tru. According to the Forecaster, paperwork was filed for the proposal to build a new hotel on Maine Mall road.

Hilton launched their Tru brand in January of this year. There hasn't been an official Tru hotel to open yet, although the first is currently under construction in Georgia right now. If the South Portland proposal is approved, groundbreaking would begin this summer with an opening planned for the summer of 2017.

Hilton claims their Tru brand cater to those "traveling on a budget" with less expensive rooms and a younger, fresh feel to the hotel. They are ditching a lobby concept, instead calling it "the hive". Below is an artist rendered picture straight from their website.

Inside "the hive", you'll be able to connect with friends, whether it be in-person or via social media, their will be workstations where you can "chill out with your headphones on". Additionally, you can forego watching local sports teams on TV's and instead watch constant updated Twitter and Instagram feeds on the big screen.

If the plan is given the green light, expect the new 40,000 square foot hotel to pop up next to the Double Tree by Hilton hotels in the vacant lot on Maine Mall Road. It'll be located next to other millennial/hipster favorites like Starbucks and Chipotle.
