We're lucky in Maine to have an abundance of marine wildlife just a short drive from where most of us live. However, it's not often you actually get to see marine wildlife unless you're out on a boat in the hah'bah.

Though yesterday, Maine residents in cars were able to grab a peek at something they probably don't see very often on the mainland- a seal!

According to the Marine Mammals of Maine Facebook page, they were notified Tuesday by the Rockland Maine Police Department about an apparent baby seal that had made its way onto land.

Police kept the parking area closed until a volunteer from the organization could arrive to assess the situation.

As it turns out, it was a perfectly healthy young seal that was just sunning itself on the pavement. The volunteers safely moved the little guy to a much safer spot and the parking lot was quickly reopened.
