Celebrity chef Alton Brown has long been known as a wizard of the culinary world. For 16 seasons, he hosted a Food Network show called "Good Eats", where he dissected the origins of ingredients, cooking methods and more.

Brown has also been the longtime host of "Iron Chef America", where some of the best chefs in the world have competed in a time battle featuring signature ingredients.

That all adds up to Alton Brown knowing a few things about how food is prepared, plated and delivered. During his travels around the country, Brown fell in love with one particular place in Portland, Maine, and declared it the 'best oyster bar in America'.

During the height of the summer tourism season in Portland, Maine, you'll often see a line stretching around the corner for Eventide Oyster Co. Their reputation has grown over the years thanks to their variety of oysters as well as their signature lobster rolls.

According to USA Today, after a cross-country food trek, Alton Brown deemed Eventide as the "best oyster bar he has even been to in his life". The atmosphere, the signature dishes, the everything was perfect.

While the city of Portland, Maine, has consistently received love from publications over the last decade, more celebrity chefs have been putting their stamp or approval on specific restaurants.
