Another Great Year for the NH Film Festival [PICS]

The NH Film Festival is now in the books for another year; their 15th year to be exact. It keeps getting better and better every year! 

Luckily I've been able to make it out to the NH Film Festival a few times. I've been to it years ago when it first got started in central NH and for the past couple of years in Portsmouth. I must say this Film Festival is always well done. It's full of great talent, super quality films, well organized, super professional and importantly to the common fans out there, always glittering with some cool people from TV and screen.

Which leads me to say... come on Portland! What are we waiting for??! There's some cool stuff in Maine for sure like the Camden Film Fest which is terrific and sure Damnationland is super great when Halloween is around. A yearly event though, right in Portland to honor all locals involved in films and possibly to entice bigger names from Hollywood, TV and the stage...? Portland, waddah ya say? Isn't it about time?

Here's my quick photo recap of Saturday.

The comedy panel was a blast. Along with John Michael Higgins on the panel Saturday was Tom Bergeron. Tom's a Boston area radio and TV legend. I've always felt his presentation, voice and style is one of the greats of all time. He is a true host. Lately American sees him hosting Dancing With The Stars of course and of course you can always find re-runs of Americans Funniest Home Videos now that he has retired from that show. Funny Massachusetts comedian/sitcom actor Jimmy Dunn was there as well as our local comic friend doing big things these days, Juston McKinney.

When I had John Michael Higgins on the air with me last week he mentioned he vacations every summer in Maine. This past summer he came to Portland for Sea Dogs game, but it was rained out. Sounded like he was a fan too! So I brought with me a reminder for him to hit Hadlock next season.
