Portland, Maine, Favorite Named One of the Best Seafood Restaurants in the Nation

There are many reasons people visit Maine each year. For some, it's the slower pace of life that is appealing. For others, it's the coastline and beaches that keeps drawing them in. But one of the key reasons people keep returning is the food in Vacationland. Specifically, the fresh seafood, which makes it nearly impossible to determine the best seafood restaurant in the state.

Up and down the coast, there are incredible restaurants working hand-in-hand with local fishermen to put the best and freshest product on the dining table.

That being said, 24/7 Wall St wasn't dissuaded from naming the 50 best seafood restaurants in America. Their choice for Maine shouldn't come as a huge surprise, either. It's one of busiest spots in Portland: Eventide Oyster Co.

Eventide's popularity is well-known in Portland, with lines often wrapping around the building during the height of tourism season. Despite the restaurant being on the smaller side, people just can't seem to get enough, and for good reason.

Eventide always features a rotating offering of fresh, local Maine oysters. They also have other fresh seafood on ice, like Maine crab claws. Additional seafood favorites like stews and chowders are on the menu for those that want their seafood in soup.

But one of the stars of the show for Eventide has been their take on a New England lobster roll. That would be their signature brown butter lobster roll, which has drawn in people from across the globe.
