Small Portland, Maine, Restaurant Named One of the Best in Nation for Thai Food
There are many reasons tourists flock to Portland, Maine, each and every year. One of the key reasons is the food. Portland is chock full of terrific restaurants, with a variety of different ethnic cuisines for each taste.
If you've been keeping tabs on the Portland food scene, you probably already know the city is home to one of the best Chinese food restaurants in the country, per LoveFood. That same publication has identified Maine's best place to visit for Thai food, and it's another restaurant from Portland.
LoveFood has named Saeng Thai House as Maine's top place for Thai food, and one of the best places in the nation. Saeng Thai House has been a constant along Congress Street, even as many of the restaurants around it have closed or changed in the many years the longtime eatery has been open.
The quaint restaurant may be small, but its food packs a punch. LoveFood points to more than just the food as a reason Saeng Thai House is Maine's best for Thai food. The restaurant's warm hospitality and environment were key factors. It feels like you're eating in someone's house.
But the food ain't bad, either. Saeng Thai House prides itself on making things from scratch, including their garlic chicken, which has long been a crowd favorite. The same can be said for their drunken noodle, a classic Thai comfort food dish that can be difficult to perfect. It's been a signature favorite for years.
