It has been a difficult and trying year for almost every restaurant and bar in Portland's Old Port area. That includes Binga's Stadium, who opened their Portland location in 2009 with the idea of being close to sporting events and concerts at the Cross Insurance Arena as well as being the predominant place to go when big sporting events were only on TV. With both of those things in question at the moment, Binga's has decided that they need to move their restaurant/bar to Forest Avenue to do what's best for business.

According to the Portland Press Herald, Binga's Stadium will relocate to Forest Avenue and take over the space left behind by Maelily Ryleigh's (Formerly Kathy and Dave's) diner. The space will allow Binga's to operate with the kind of feel they have at both their Yarmouth and Windham locations. The initial plan also includes some outdoor space on Forest Avenue, something Binga's couldn't have at their current location in Portland. Being able to offer outdoor dining as well as a dedicated parking lot will take some of the guessing game out of the business. At their current location, Binga's was at the behest of firm restrictions on indoor dining as well as strict parking rules in the Old Port. With lingering questions about when major events would return to the Cross Insurance Arena also hovering, Binga's needed to take matters into their own hands.

It will take some time for Binga's to transition the old diner into their new vision for it and they plan to keep their Old Port location operational until construction is complete.
