If you feel like club stores are more popular than they've ever been in Maine, it's not your imagination.

Club stores across the nation have entered a 'golden age', where places like Sam's Club and Costco are seeing more members coming through their doors to save money on everything from essentials to groceries.

There's also a matter of convenience. Club stores have really pushed to make things like carside pickup and same-day delivery options at most locations.

Believe it or not, there's only one club store that operates in Portland, Maine. That's BJ's Wholesale Club and they're undergoing some renovations in hopes of bringing more customers through the door.

If you haven't visited the BJ's Wholesale Club location in Portland, Maine, recently, there's already been a handful of changes made.

The store has moved its service desk to the front entrance, allowing new customers to easily secure a membership. Current members can take care of service related issues more simply as well.

BJ's also moved their eye care department further into the store to allow for less hustle and bustle than its prior location.

More Improvements Are Coming For the BJ's Location in Portland, Maine

Currently, the front facade of BJ's Wholesale Club in Portland, Maine, is receiving a facelift that should make for a more streamline entrance and exit from the store which includes grabbing a cart.

There is an also an area near the bakery that is undergoing some work and some of aisles are being reworked to include new products for a modern shopper.

BJ's has also upped their curbside pickup and delivery game at the Portland, Maine, store. Part of the renovations includes a more streamlined curbside pickup area.

Lastly, BJ's in Portland, Maine, has already launched their mobile checkout system allowing customers to skip lines all together and simply scan products, pay and go through the BJ's app.
