According to a recent press release, commuters in Boston spend more time sitting in traffic than drivers in any other U.S. city. An average Bostonion wastes 164 hours a year in the city's congestion, a solid 9 hours ahead of Washington D.C. in second place, and a whopping 67 hours above the national average of 97 hours.

In addition to being the most congested U.S. city, Boston was the only American city to rank in the top 10 most congested cities worldwide.

As a result of their wasted time, Boston drivers lose up to $2,291 per year in gas money and car wear and tear.

The moral of the story is: be thankful you live in a place where you don't have to spend hours on end idling in traffic like our neighbors to the South. That is, unless you're trying to get to Red's Eats in the summahtime. Eh, ya can't win 'em all!
