Playing their final game before this weekends all-star game the Boston Bruins were hoping to take a little momentum into the break. Instead they got a pounding from the Anaheim Ducks to the tune of a 6-2 final score.

The Ducks scored 2 goals in each period with Corey Perry, David Perron, Ryan Kesler and Shea Theodore each getting a goal and an assist.

Boston had to make a change in goal after the first period when Jonas Gustavsson left due to illness. He was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital for observation according to the tean who did not have an update on his status following the game. One is likely to come this afternoon.

The Bruins got their goals form defensemen Zach Trotman and Zdeno Chara. The team got off 34 shots in the game but Ducks goaltender Frederik Andersen stopped 32 of them.

Despite the blowout loss Boston has won 5 of their last 7 games and will resume the season on Tuesday when they host Toronto.
