Maine ranks 48th in the nation when it comes to tall buildings. We kind of like it that way! We recently found out what the tallest building was in Portland and we were a bit surprised. It's not our One City Center (that's #9) or the Time Temperature Building (that's #6). It's not even City Hall, Back Bay Tower or Franklin Tower.

The tallest structure in Portland is the beautiful Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. 204 feet high. Check out this incredible drone shot from Sky High Maine Photography.

Quick Fun Fact: The cathedral may be the tallest structure in Portland but it's not the tallest building in Maine. That honor goes to the Agora Grand Event Center, formerly St Patrick's Church, in Lewiston. At 220 feet it's 16 feet closer to heaven than the cathedral.
