Check Out Rare Photo Captures of a Cute Yet Fierce Maine Critter
It's not very often that we come across a Maine critter that looks like a cuddly ferret out in the wild. At least, I've never seen one.
Yeah, this little weasel sure does appear friendly enough. But I don't think it would be a good idea to get too close. I hear they can be mighty vicious.
These incredible shots were posted on Facebook earlier this week by Andrew F. March.
According to the post, the pictures were taken at East Shirley Bog in Upper Shirley Corner, Maine. The creature is identified by Andrew as a Pine Marten.
If you aren't entirely sold on the idea that the Pine Marten could be as ferocious as a Honey Badger, we've found a great up close look at one raised in captivity.
Watch this informative quick video to learn more about "Nature's Most Adorable Assassin". It is a formidable tree climber and squirrel hunter. Those are some potentially murderous looking teeth right there.
The nature host, Coyote Peterson refers to the Pine Marten as "one of the wiliest members of the weasel family."
