The summer concert calendar in New England is filling up with a little taste of something for everyone. That includes a continuation of the pop punk and screamo revival that has been happening over the past couple of years.

WCYY proudly presents The Used and Story of the Year live at the State Theatre on Wednesday July 3.

The Used have had multiple chart-topping hits over the years. Frontman Bert McCracken continues to deliver his signature performances during every show, and despite many bands from their era having disappeared from the scene, the Used continue to pack shows and put on memorable performances. The Used played Portland last June with Pierce the Veil.

Story of the Year has been busy as well. The band released a brand new album in 2023, and then spent the summer and fall as support for Yellowcard on their 20th anniversary tour across the country. That included a stop in Portland last August.

Tickets will go on sale for The Used and Story of the Year at the State Theatre on Friday, March 22, at 10am.

WCYY is also presenting another can't-miss show this summer.

The State Theatre has announced that Primus, as well as Coheed and Cambria, will be performing live at Thompson's Point on Tuesday, August 13.  This tour is a co-headlining performance, meaning both bands will have lengthy sets.

Primus is no stranger to performing in Portland. The band has repeatedly visited the city over the last decade. They've played the State Theater, the Maine State Pier, and most recently, the Cross Insurance Arena in 2021.

Coheed and Cambria has also visited Portland in the past. In 2015, they played to a packed State Theater filled with enthusiastic fans. But it's been nearly a decade, and a couple albums since the people of Maine have seen them perform live.
