CYY Happy to Welcome our Long Time Friends Barenaked Ladies Back to the Maine State Pier!

Happy to be one of the first radio stations in the country to play Barenaked Ladies! The station that had them on our rooftop back in '97 for the biggest CYY Patio Show to date is coming back for a second consecutive year to the Maine State Pier on Friday, June 24th for this years Last Summer on Earth tour.

In addition to the legendary patio show that packed Monument Square and beyond, the band also joined Guster later that same year to play the first CYY Holiday Bizarre at the State Theatre. They came back again in 2000 to play another Holiday Bizarre show with Guster at the Cross Insurance Arena (then Civic Center), and have returned several times since.

This year, there bringing some friends with them. For those of you stuck in the 80's (like myself), the band OMD and singer Howard Jones probably ring a bell. I am ready to see these bands perform some 80's classics.

Who can forget this gem? OMD's (Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark) biggest hit came from the classic Molly Ringwald flick Pretty in Pink from 1986.
