Did You Take Advantage This Summer of the L.L.Bean Beach Box?
Three beaches in Maine and two in Massachusetts had the L.L.Bean Beach Box.
What the heck is anL.L.Bean Beach Box? It's the neatest thing from L.L.Bean. I wish I had discovered them sooner. It's literally a box filled with summer fun and all for the borrowing. These beach boxes from Beans were set up all summer at Reid State Park in Georgetown, Popham Beach State Park in Phippsburg, and Crescent Beach State Park in Cape Elizabeth. That's where I first saw the beach box.
It was filled with pretty much anything you might need to have fun at the beach. Chairs, umbrellas, bags, life jackets, games, and even reading materials.
You take what you need, and bring it back when you are all finished. I wanted to see what they had for reading materials. I am not sure if the books left were from L.L.Bean or from someone wanting to share, but I passed.
These Beach Boxes are the best! I love L.L.Bean! If every company conducted their business with truly the customer's best interest in mind, the world would be a better place. These boxes are so damn thoughtful. But what is even better is that it's the honor system. Trust me, the L.L.Bean beach chair offered in the box was way nicer than the crappy old one I dragged from home. That box was empty when I took the final chair and filled back with everything when I headed home. I'd love to say that it's because Mainers are so awesome, but it's summer, so there had to be tourists dipping in that box. Maybe it's because it's L.L.Bean and if they can do something so amazing, the least we can do is keep it going. I hope these boxes come back next year! Thank you, L.L.Bean. I love bragging about living in the same state as this place.
