Do You Take Public Transportation? Coming Soon, a New App That Shows When Your Bus/Ferry Will Arrive

It's got to be frustrating not knowing if you missed your ride, especially if you have to be somewhere at a certain time. According to the Portland Press Herald, Casco Bay Lines is working with Portland and South Portland bus services on a new GPS app that will not only give you that information, but will also show you how far away your bus or ferry is.

Let's just for a moment think back to that brutal winter we had. You'll be able to find out when your bus or ferry will showing up in real time, without having to be outside waiting in a blizzard. It's the little things in life, right? Except, this doesn't seem that little. I don't normally use public transportation but this seems like a huge win to the southern Mainers that do.

General Manager of Casco Bay Lines Hank Berg said they will be the first ferry company in the nation to offer this service. This upgrade is expected to be ready to go and launched by late summer/early fall.
