There's Finally a 24-Hour Dunkin' Location in Maine Again

It doesn't feel like that long ago when many restaurants across Maine served food late. Some of those restaurants never actually closed at all.

For those that work in certain professions and industries, restaurants that operated 24 hours each day were a true life saver. But 24-hour restaurants have all but disappeared across Maine over the last decade.

According to the Portland Press Herald, several factors have contributed to that. There is less nightlife in Maine, much of the population has aged and there's difficulty in finding workers to fill overnight positions.

But perhaps things are beginning to change for the all-night crowd. Because one Dunkin' location has decided it's time to never close.

Dunkin' in Westbrook, Maine, Moves to Being Open 24 Hours

Located at 742 Main Street in Westbrook, Maine, you'll now find the only Dunkin' in southern Maine that is open 24 hours.

The Dunkin' in Westbrook recently made the move with signage alerting their regular customers that the location will no longer close at any time of night.

It's a welcome reprieve for Dunkin' lovers in the area that work late-night or overnight positions. There is no Dunkin' in Portland, Maine, that stays open past 9pm.

Burger King Operates Several 24-Hour Locations in Maine

Since Dysart's and Denny's stop being open around the clock about a decade ago, the only 24-hour restaurant in Maine over the last couple of years has been Burger King.

Burger King locations throughout portions of southern Maine returned to a 24-hour model because there was a call for it. From hospitality staff to first responders to Uber drivers.

Perhaps more Dunkin' locations are preparing to head back to 24-hours a day as well.
