Evanescence were forced to perform a "special" acoustic show in Russia Monday (Sept. 23) after the truck transporting their equipment was involved in an accident. No one was hurt in the crash.

The concert at Grad Event Hall in Voronezh, Russia, was initially scheduled for the previous night (Sunday, Sept 22). But when the band learned of the accident, they postponed the show to the following evening. However, when the truck still hadn't on arrived Monday, they decided to forge ahead anyway. Before the improvised acoustic performance, Evanescence singer Amy Lee informed the audience of the change with help from a translator. "We're gonna have a special show tonight," Lee announced onstage. "The truck with all of our gear was in an accident. While everybody is OK and the gear is OK, it couldn't be here for tonight's show. We didn't come all the way here to cancel on you guys. So, instead, we rented some local instruments and put together an acoustic set. So we're gonna play an acoustic show tonight."

Evanescence guitarist Jen Majura shared more details the next day on Facebook: "I thought I‘ve seen pretty much most of it by now! - Until Voronezh!" she wrote. "I’d say 95% of all bands touring would have just cancelled their show - but we decided to push through! We had a band meeting and created a setlist for an acoustic show, rented local acoustic guitars, used a little cocktail drum kit from the venue for Will, got a piano for Amy and a bass for Tim, mics, strings, cables, picks etc."

The band are spending the end of September touring Russia and the Ukraine before heading to Mexico City later this year for Knotfest Mexico. See Evanescence's current tour dates and get ticketing info here.
