Here’s What is Replacing Frog and Turtle Restaurant in Westbrook, Maine

For nearly two consecutive decades, one of the signature restaurants in Westbrook, Maine, was the Frog and Turtle Gastropub located right off of Main Street.

The Frog and Turtle was well-known for their brunch service but was also a community hub for live music, upscale dinners and more.

But in March of 2025, it was announced that the Frog and Turtle would close permanently based on several factors.

Many assumed that premium space would quickly become something else. However, it's sat empty for nearly a year until stirring recently started.

And now, a new restaurant is nearly ready to shine.

Bombay Bistro Takes Over Frog and Turtle Space in Westbrook, Maine

Just a few weeks ago, the exterior of the old Frog and Turtle received a paint job with a brighter green. That led to a lot of speculation as to what might be coming.

Over the past few days, signage has gone up alerting everyone to what is coming next. An Indian restaurant called Bombay Bistro that plans to serve traditional dishes with a modern flair.

And similar to the soul of Frog and Turtle, Bombay Bistro hopes to become a community hub to eat, drink and repeat.

Bombay Bistro Will Specialize in a Handful of Well-Known Dishes

According to the Bombay Bistro website, the restaurant will specialize in a few dishes that have become well-known to fans of Indian food.

Those dishes will include butter chicken, potato and pea samosas as well as goat prawn curry.

As of this writing, there is no official grand opening date for Bombay Bistro in Westbrook, Maine, but one is expected soon.
