A massive fire Tuesday evening at the Fryeburg Fairgrounds destroyed two buildings and damaged six others, but organizers say the fair will go on as scheduled.

The fire broke out inside the sheep barn and spread to the cattle barn completely destroying them. Investigators are in the process of trying to determine what started the fire. There were no animals in the barns at the time and no one was injured, but it's still a heartbreaking sight to see these iconic buildings go up in flames.

The fire has not deterred the organizers of the Fryeburg Fair however. Speaking with WGME 13, General Superintendent David Andrews said the fair will go on this fall as scheduled, even if they have to put tents up in place of the barns.
