Have You Seen The Mountain of Snow Dumped in Portland? When Will This Monster Melt?
It looks like a mountain that suddenly appeared overnight, but in reality it's a massive pile of snow that was dumped after being hauled off the streets of Portland.
You of course remember the seemingly non-stop snow for a week in February. All that snow had to go somewhere and you'll find a jaw-dropping amount of it still sitting next to West Commercial street.
Gorham Sand and Gravel has a snow dump in part of a former rail yard on Commercial Street and after over 50 inches of snow in Portland it filled up fast with snow.
It's the dirtiest snow pile you'll ever see and taller than the trees around it that it seems to have engulfed like a landslide.
How long do you think it will take for this massive pile to completely melt? We also wonder what they'll find in this that the plows accidentally scooped up. We're going to say this will be gone on June 12, a totally random guess, but it sounds good. When do you think it will melt? Let us know in the comments below or on our Facebook page.
