If you're jonesing to hit the slopes at Sunday River, it won't be long now as the first snow of the season has fallen at the mountain.

On Friday it was cold enough on the peaks at Sunday River for snow to fall. Only an inch managed to accumulate and it likely won't last long, but it's the first indication that ski season isn't far away. The falling snow was captured on camera in the early hours of Friday morning.

With temperatures on Saturday morning cold enough to make snow, it was time for the for the first test of Sunday River's snow that has been upgraded with new pumps. The new system was blasting snow at a rate that increases the resorts snow making capacity by 10%. The test was streamed live on Facebook with one person commenting that they are hoping for some Halloween skiing.

Be patient snow lovers. You'll be gliding down the slopes before you know it.
