According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, Spring in Maine, New Hampshire, & Massachusetts Could Be Unusually Warm This Year
Whether you are a believer in the theory that mankind is causing the Earth's temperatures to increase, there is no denying that we are experiencing climate change.
Over the last few decades, we have seen New England winters change immensely.
As children, many of us experienced cold, snowy winters. If you lived inland in New England, you likely had snow on the ground from early December through mid-March. In some parts of the region, you often had to contend with snowbanks taller than you. To make matters worse, the temperatures were frequently brutally cold.
Our winters are no longer like that. While we may have a few good-sized snowstorms each winter, we often have bare ground. Additionally, the temperatures are generally warmer than they used to be. They cold snap that we dealt with during the second and third week of January is a rarety.
It now looks like we'll be seeing a warmer than normal spring this year.
The Old Farmer's Almanac Spring 2025 Forecast
The Old Farmer's Almanac, which is based in New Hampshire, is calling for a warm and dry Spring 2025 in New England.
Their prediction, which is based on solar science, climatology, and meteorology, calls for it to be about three degrees warmer in April than it normally is. The precipitation for April is expected to be average, but the precipitation for May is expected to be less than normal.
Basically, if they are right, we'll see an early start to summer in 2025.
It is important to note that the Lewiston-based Farmer's Almanac calls for the spring to be cool and wet.
Which forecast is right? We'll have to wait to see. Would you rather see a warm spring or a cool and wet spring? Why? Give us your thoughts on Facebook or by messaging us in our app.
