What’s Being Built Next to Denny’s in Augusta, Maine?

If you have driven Civic Center Drive in Augusta recently, you may have noticed a new construction project.

The project, which is in its early stages, is located next to Denny's restaurant.  Right now, it is little more than a hole in the ground that gives little indication of what will eventually be built there.  It really is hard to tell what it will eventually become.

However, we have the answer.

After doing a little digging, we now know that the spot will soon be home to the latest location of one of New England's fastest-growing beverage franchises.

A New Aroma Joe's Location in Central Maine

Aroma Joe's, one of the country's leading handcrafted beverage franchises, will soon have a third location in Augusta.

According to Kyle Hersey, who owns the Bangor Street location with Steve Pracher, the new location, which will share a driveway with the Denny’s restaurant, will feature a drive-thru and a walk-up window.  At this time, they are hoping to have the new location open by the spring of 2025.

While Aroma Joe’s is quickly becoming a common sight in Maine, the franchise had humble beginnings.  The first Aroma Joe’s location opened in East Rochester, New Hampshire in 2000.  The franchise was founded by Marty and Tim McKenna and Mike and Brian Sillon, four cousins passionate about great coffee.
