This Terrifying Maine Haunted House Needs to Be on Your Halloween Bucket List
Even though most of us are trying to savor the last few days of summer, there is no doubt that fall is on the way.
The days are getting shorter, the temperatures are getting cooler, and the leaves are falling from the trees.
Before too long, we'll all be focusing on the holidays, including Halloween.
Over the last few years, central Maine has been blessed by a variety of Halloween events and attractions: trunk-or-treats, Halloween parties, haunted trails, and haunted houses.

Without a doubt, one of the most loved haunted attractions in our area is the United Volunteers of Maine Haunted House.
Around for decades and put on completely by volunteers, it is an amazing haunted attraction. And, even cooler, each year is different. Even if the location remains the same, the haunt changes enough that you will barely recognize it from year to year.
As it has been the last few 2024 United Volunteers of Maine Haunted House will be located in the old Michael's spot at the Marketplace at Augusta. That's right next to Regal Cinemas and Barnes & Noble.
This year, the haunted house will be open on October 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26, and 30.
The haunted house will also be open on Halloween night and you'll have one last chance to check it out on November 1. The doors open at 7 p.m. each night.
Tickets for the haunted house are $20 and proceeds benefit a variety of local non-profits.
