SHOCKER! Some Parts of Maine Could See Snow & Ice on Wednesday Night

Most of us have tried our best to make the most out of the last few days.

For the first time since early November, we have been blessed with temperatures that climbed above 50 degrees.  Actually, in parts of Central Maine, we saw temperatures in the low 70s on Tuesday.

It wasn't just the temperatures that we cooperating.  On Monday, we had mostly sunny skies.  Then, on Tuesday, we were blessed with copious amounts of sunshine.

While the coast was about ten degrees cooler than Central Maine, they were still blessed with sunny skies.

Given how nice the last few days have been, it is going to be kind of shocking to some people that parts of Maine will see a nasty winter storm on Wednesday and Wednesday night.

Winter Weather Forecast For Maine

On Wednesday, the temperatures across the state will drop and nasty weather will roll into Maine.

For much of Maine, the weather will have a traditional early spring feel.  According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday will start as a cloudy day, with rain likely developing after lunchtime.  Highs will be right around 37. .

Rain continues overnight and areas of dense fog are possible. Temperatures actually climb a bit overnight, reaching around 41 degrees by early Thursday morning.

We could see a chance of rain throughout the afternoon on Thursday.  There's even a slim chance of some wet snow in the morning.

The weather in Northern Maine will be quite a bit more exciting.

Aroostook County, and nearby counties, will be under w Winter Storm Warning from 8 AM on Wednesday through 8 AM on Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday looks messy.  Snow moves in during the morning, then mixes with sleet through the afternoon.  Highs will be near 30, and there’s about a 90 percent chance we pick up 1 to 3 inches of snow and sleet.
