Here’s How Maine Residents Can Take a Direct Flight to See the Solar Eclipse
Okay now this is totally epic, and it's something we've all been looking forward to and talking about. The solar eclipse!
Picture yourself soaring through the skies, chasing the shadow of a total solar eclipse. Sounds dreamy, doesn't it? Well, Delta Air Lines is making it happen, but here's the catch. You have to jet off to Austin, Texas, to catch this wild ride. But I had to share that it's an option for Mainers!
What is the Path-of-Totality-Flight?
If Delta Airlines is offering this, according to WMTW, this is a flight experience like no other, all set to coincide with the upcoming North American total solar eclipse!
This is going to take place on April 8, 2024. Delta's special eclipse flight will fly from Austin to Detroit. But why Detroit? That's where the magic happens.
They've picked this route to make sure passengers get the best seat in the sky for the eclipse.
And get this! The flight, numbered 1218, will be aboard a fancy A220-300 aircraft, as WMTW states. This swanky flight has extra-large windows, which is perfect for catching the breathtaking eclipse views.
According to the report, the flight will take off at 12:15 p.m. CST and land in Detroit at 4:20 p.m. EST. The journey is promising its fliers an unforgettable celestial show.
Warren Weston, who is Delta's lead meteorologist, said this eclipse is a "big deal", and it's the LAST total eclipse over North America until 2044!
In addition, it's going to last way longer than the one back in 2017, and cover a wider path across the sky.
But if you can't hop on this exclusive eclipse flight, don't fret. Delta's got a bunch of other flights cruising through the eclipse's shadow. So if you happen to be on one of these flights, you're in for an epic cosmic show!
Check it out and see if your travel plans align with these flights. How's that for an out-of-this-world adventure?
